SPL Fanzone: St Mirren

SOMEHOW we still find ourselves in the Scottish Cup for at least another week. We were poor against Ross County and they could have had the game won before the end had it not been for Colin McMenamin’s luck deserting him in front of goal.

Thankfully, when it came to the death, our luck was most definitely in and Richard Brittain took a shocking penalty. So, unlike Rangers, we live to fight another day – but if we play like that in the replay on Valentine’s Day then we’ll almost certainly not be taking our place in the last eight.

Things have begun to slip for us since the turn of the year – Steven Thompson’s goal on Saturday was our first at home in 2012. Our form must improve if we don’t want to be involved in the relegation dogfight and we must take something from the game against Motherwell this weekend.
