SPL Fanzone: St Mirren

A GOAL-LESS draw was probably the ideal way to finish the season. I’ve lost count of how many we’ve managed so it was fitting to notch up another one. It was always likely considering our problems in front of goal, with Aberdeen being even worse.

Kilmarnock’s win meant we didn’t really miss out on seventh place – the damage on that front was done the previous week against Inverness. However, a point was enough for eighth, bettering our best-ever SPL finish by two positions. Good going considering we went three months without a win.

Hopefully, the extra prize money, combined with the cash from a couple of games being on TV, means we can make some improvements over the summer and break into the top six rather than reverting back to our old status as relegation battlers.
