SPL Fanzone: St Johnstone

Our New Years’ game against Inverness fell by the wayside and we’ve slipped to fifth, hopefully on a temporary basis, but there’s plenty to be positive about in 2012.

Our defeat of a very decent Kilmarnock side midweek was just brilliant – two goals forged by exploiting the Ayrshire side’s inability to defend set pieces properly, and a clean sheet thanks to some great defending and even better goalkeeping from the outstanding Peter Enckelman.

The matches in January present a tough test – Rangers at home and Motherwell away the toughest upcoming games – but we’ve got nothing to fear from either. Four wins between now and the split should hopefully see top six football in Perth this term. We’ve got 12 games to rack up those points and if we can keep our form up, there’s no reason why that can’t happen.
