SPL Fanzone: St Johnstone

Well, we’re through and that’s the main thing. The Scottish Cup tie against Brechin at the weekend was among the dullest games I can remember us having in that historic competition in recent years – but we were in the hat for Monday’s draw and frankly that’s all that matters.

We’ve been drawn with Hearts in the next round, with our luck conspiring to give us not only another team that we played in last year’s competition, but also one of the toughest possible draws.

The big topic, however, has been the speculation surrounding Fran Sandaza. I want him to stay as long as possible, but is it just a coincidence that all of this is being ramped up just days before we take on Rangers, unsettling the player and upsetting our preparation? I think not.
