SPL Fanzone: St Johnstone

I THINK most Saints fans will be delighted to still be in the cup draw and happy with our potential quarter-final opponents after Sunday’s trip to Tynecastle.

We got it all wrong in the first half and Steve Lomas has held his hands up. Our second-half performance was far improved – with Sheridan and Sandaza again combining to lethal effect.

Referee Craig Thomson booked three men for dissent, even though none of Dave Mackay, Murray Davidson or Ian Black made any gestures or approached him in anyway. Mackay, of course, was later to receive an unbelievably soft second yellow.

Back to league business this week with Rangers’ conquerors Dundee United visiting McDiarmid. They’re the only team we’ve failed to beat since returning to the SPL – here’s hoping we can change that.
