SPL Fanzone: St Johnstone

Around Christmas I had a trawl through the historic SPL tables since the inception of the split and said we’d need 53 points at the very least to make fifth spot our own and have a chance at Europe. After game 31 we were on 49 points and looking well on track to make that at the very least. Now here we sit, with the SPL season wrapped up, having accumulated only one point from that final, disastrous seven games. Two places worse off and praying for a Hearts win at Hampden on Saturday to send us into Europe.

This has easily been our best season since we returned to the SPL. But there’s a palpable sense of disappointment among the Saints support. One point from 18, with a goal difference of –14 for that final period, is beyond awful.

Come on Hearts, do us a favour and put a smile on our faces again!
