SPL Fanzone: Motherwell

Motherwell’s fantastic three points in Inverness on Saturday kept momentum going and all eyes are now firmly turned towards a mouth-watering clash with Celtic this weekend.

However, our performance in the Highlands will surely leave fans unsure of what is likely to come.

We did not play our best but, as the media love to say, winning when below par is the sign of a good team. And, although scoring late on perhaps shows a degree of luck, it also highlights determination and resilience.

It wasn’t even our most dramatic comeback as many will remember “Skippy Sunday” in 2005 when Celtic, needing to win at Fir Park to clinch the title, lost to two Scott McDonald goals. Rangers won at Easter Road and the Motherwell fans revelled in schadenfreude. A repeat this Sunday would be most welcome!
