International gaps breaking up the season are now an established part of football but the November date with Scotland playing such a meaningless game is particularly frustrating.
However, the players will surely benefit from a rest and with our squad being so small, the chance to recover from knocks and strains is not to be sniffed at.
This is especially the case with such a big game coming up against Aberdeen on Saturday. The opportunity to return to winning ways following the Celtic defeat is definitely there but many fans will simply be anxious to put one over Craig Brown (again!). Aberdeen supporters understandably care little about us but the struggles endured by Mark McGhee and now Brown have certainly been met with wry smiles in Lanarkshire.
