SPL Fanzone: Motherwell

Motherwell lost at Ibrox on Saturday – again. It hardly seemed necessary to take up space on the back pages; it was hardly news.

If ever there was a banker bet it was that Motherwell would not beat Rangers. The fans who have taken the biannual trip to Govan for the last 15 years were not conned by the two defeats that Rangers brought to this meeting, nor the absence of Jelavic - nor even the early departure of Lafferty.

In 31 attempts since 1987, several managers and dozens of players have tried to win at Ibrox, but we seem unable to face up to the blue jerseys regardless. We must find some self belief next time.

Queen’s Park come to Fir Park on Saturday for the cup tie. The club hope it’s the start of a run to Hampden – it may happen if we can avoid a draw with Rangers in a later round!
