SPL Fanzone: Inverness Caledonian Thistle

AT the start of the weekend’s game we would have taken a point against a very good St Johnstone side. It was a satisfactory performance, as the players all responded well after last week.

The continual high balls were frustrating but, apart from that, we played a fair amount of decent football and had the lion’s share of possession. Again, chances were created with no end product and had Jonny Hayes’s superb first-half strike gone in, it may have been a different story. Clean sheets are also rare for us this season and we don’t usually do goal-less draws, but this was a hard-earned point against a side who are challenging for a Euro spot. This all begs the question of what league position we’d have been in had we have not suffered from poor finishing and sloppy defending in many of our games this season.
