SPL Fanzone: Dunfermline

WOULD quality players of the calibre of speedy defender Jordan McMillan and versatile Kyle Hutton have left the champions if Dunfermline were certainties for the drop?

Both were very much part of Rangers’ plans and, like Allan McGregor before them, see East End as a stepping stone to greater things. The Dunfermline board had promised to give Jim McIntyre every assistance in his bid to stay up, but that had seemed a forlorn hope after the devastating loss of TV cup revenue.

Now, with goalie Iain Turner and midfielder Mark Kerr on board, the inclusion of players with a winning mentality should be reflected in a change of fortune at home. Despite our wretched form, our average gate is still around 5,500 and last year’s crowds as we won the First Division show the potential if we can turn the corner.
