SPL Fanzone: Dunfermline

THE siege at Dunfermline may be about to be lifted. Two weekends without a match will allow players to recover and Jim McIntyre to choose from his biggest pool in months

In the longer term, the fact that the SPL will meet without the Old Firm is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to secure our future.

For too long the OF have ignored the demand of the fans to have a top league of 14, which would NOT threaten the SkyTV contract. The 11-1 voting requirement has stifled all attempts to modernise the set-up. The OF have taken a disproportionate share of the cake while weeping crocodile tears over the failure of other clubs to sustain a challenge. Rangers in one form or another will feature in the top league next season but it will be on conditions laid down by the rest. The balance of power is shifting.
