SPL Fanzone: Dundee United

AS USUAL when one of the Old Firm is defeated, the media focused on the losing side rather than offering the plaudits to the winning side.

Yes, Rangers were poor but this was one of the best performances from Dundee United at Ibrox in many a year and a combination of slick passing, clinical finishing, great organisation and determined grit from United played as much a part in Rangers’ undoing than any so-called crisis did.

United are in desperate need of a catalyst to finally kick-start the season and whilst it may already be February, it’s still not too late for United to get something out of this campaign. The result against Rangers may just be what’s needed to build confidence inside the squad and hopefully, at worst, see United secure a top-six place.
