SPL Fanzone: Aberdeen

MEMORIES of that black day at Hampden almost four years ago were evoked when a defensive blunder gave our visitors from Dumfries the lead on Saturday.

Perhaps it’s a sign of the character of this year’s vintage that we rescued a draw from what was another performance devoid of thrust or creativity. It doesn’t take Jose Mourinho to work out that setting up to defend against us will frustrate the team and fans in equal measure, and the net result was an awkward replay at Palmerston.

Meanwhile, league business takes us to Easter Road this weekend. Another gritty point would appear to be the likely outcome, but if we’re serious about maintaining our top-half position you’d imagine three points would be needed.
