The league had previously announced changes for games on the first weekend of the season but have now extended the schedule to November 1.

The same goes for the first two meetings between Celtic and Aberdeen with the difference that those contests have been moved to an early Saturday kick-off for the Sky cameras.

St Mirren’s trip to Rangers will be the first Friday night clash of the new season.

The time slot is dominated by second tier games in August with Morton v St Mirren and Falkirk v Dumbarton covered live by BBC Alba.

The top flight sees its first Friday night game in September when Hearts travel to Inverness CT on the 11th.
