SFL act early to postpone matches

The Scottish Football League took into account fairly dreadful weather forecasts for the north and east of Scotland last night when they called off games in both the Second and Third Division.

The match between Forfar Athletic and Stirling Albion was cancelled at 5.15pm with the contest involving Elgin City and Peterhead postponed an hour earlier. An SFL spokesperson said: “The games had to be postponed based on adverse weather conditions at the time and what was predicted for later in the evening.”

Meanwhile, the SFL has scheduled in four of the fixtures postponed last weekend for next Tuesday. They are: Second Division – Brechin v Stirling, Forfar v East Fife (7.30pm). Third Division Clyde v Elgin, Peterhead v Berwick (all 7.45pm unless stated).
