Seniors: Dalgleish delight as Tynie slam Craigroyston

Tynecastle boss Dougie Dalgleish hailed a “superb” performance from his side as they won 5-0 to leapfrog opponents Craigroyston into second place in the Central Taxis Premier Division.

The prolific Ousman See notched a double for the second successive match to douse the threat of high-flying Craigie, and Shaun Turnbull also weighed in with a brace as Tynie ran riot. Jamie Devlin’s strike completed the hosts’ handsome win at Fernieside, which takes Tynecastle above Craigroyston and to within four points of top-tier leaders Stirling University.

Tynie boss Dougie Dalgleish said: “It was a great result and a superb performance from the boys in maroon.”

Elsewhere, Coldstream took the lead at home to Edinburgh University after ten minutes thanks to Sean Simpson but the Peffermill side went on to have the lion’s share of possession and goalscoring chances during the remainder of the match. Their pressure eventually paid off late in the game, with Duncan Black equalising to help the Uni gain a point and remain on the coat-tails of the top three.

Edinburgh University boss Dorian Ogunro said: “We dominated the whole game. We lost a poor goal through a basic mistake after ten minutes but controlled the match from then on. We should have won comfortably but missed so many good chances.”
