Airdrie played host to East Fife, Stenhousemuir battled for a play-off place with Arbroath, champions Cowdenbeath travelled to Brechin, Forfar entertained Albion Rovers as relegation-threatened Stirling Albion welcomed Dumbarton

Airdrie United 2, East Fife 0

Both sides had chances in the first half but failed to capitalise.

Sean Lynch put Airdrie in front six minutes into the second half and Jamie Bain made sure with two minutes left.

Willie McLaren and David White were then both sent off.

Arbroath 0, Stenhousemuir 2

Stenhousemuir kept their play-off hopes alive with a comfortable win at Gayfield.

Grant Anderson turned in a Stewart Kean pass after just 11 minutes. Kean was again the provider as Andy Rodgers doubled the visitors’ advantage with his 17th of the season.

Brechin City 2, Cowdenbeath 2

Brechin stunned the champions by racing to a two-goal lead, on-loan Rory McKenzie converting a penalty before adding a second three minutes later.

But Marc McKenzie pulled a goal back and John Armstrong equalised nine minutes into the second half.

Forfar Athletic 4, Albion Rovers 0

Kevin Byers shot the home side ahead after three minutes before Tony Stevenson was sent off.

Greg Ross then turned in a Byers cross to make it 2-0 before setting up Byers for his second shortly afterwards. Bradley Coyne completed the scoring with a well-taken fourth.

Stirling Albion 1, Dumbarton 2

Dumbarton sent Stirling down, despite Scott Davidson putting the hosts ahead early in the second half.An own goal from Devon Jacobs with 12 minutes left gave the Sons an equaliser. Craig Dargo then stepped up and sealed Stirling’s fate with a late strike.
