Airdrieonians 0-1 Ayr United

Anthony Marenghi gave 10-man Ayr all three points with his 53rd minute finish. Marc McAusland was sent off for the visitors after picking up a second yellow card less than 60 seconds before Marenghi put the Honest Men in front.

Basement side Airdrie were unable to use the extra man to their advantage, and Ayr hung on for the victory.

Brechin 3-1 Arbroath

The game exploded into life in the second half, with three goals in half an hour. Graham Hay’s 39th minute penalty gave Brechin the lead, with Andy Ryan doubling their advantage on the hour mark. Alan Cook pulled one back for the Red Lichties, before a flurry of bookings preceded substitute Bobby Barr’s winner.

Stenhousemuir 1-1 Forfar

Stenny and the Light Blues had to settle for a share of the spoils at Ochilview, as John Gemmell’s 10th-minute strike was cancelled out by on-loan Dundee United midfielder Dale Hilson. The point keeps Stranraer in touch with third-placed Dunfermline, although the Pars have a game in hand.

Stranraer 1-2 Dunfermline

Jamie Longworth gave Stranraer the lead after 12 minutes, an advantage they held onto until early in the second half, when Stephen Husband equalised for the Pars. Josh Falkingham’s 70th-minute effort gave Dunfermline all three points, who now share second spot with Ayr.
