Scott Vernon and Andrew Considine sign new deals at Aberdeen

ABERDEEN duo Scott Vernon and Andrew Considine have both signed new contracts, the Pittodrie club have confirmed.

The Dons top scorer Vernon, 28, with nine goals this season, has signed a deal that sees him remain with the club until the summer of 2014. Defender Considine, 24, a product of the Pittodrie youth system, has signed until the summer of 2015.

Manager Craig Brown told the club’s official website: “Both Scott and Andy are integral to my plans here at the club and I’m naturally very pleased they have pledged their futures here.

“I have already gone on record that I believe Scott can reach the 20-goal tally this season, while Andy is the most improved player in our squad this season and one of the first names on the teamsheet each week.”

Vernon joined Aberdeen from Colchester in the summer of 2010 and has previously played for Blackpool, Southend United, Oldham, Gillingham and Northampton, while Considine made his debut as a teenager in season 2003-4. “There were a couple of things that came up,” said Vernon, “but nothing as good as staying at Aberdeen.”
