New Easter Road boss Neil Lennon said he was hopeful of landing the experienced attacker along with English striker Grant Holt.

However, it is now being reported that McDonald will opt against a move to Edinburgh, though it is not yet known at this time whether he’ll remain at Fir Park.

There is an option for McDonald to remain at the Lanarkshire club for another year, though the team are trying to get the striker to agree to a reduced wage.
