Scotland women's players given parting gift ahead of Euros
A trio of Scotland women's football squad were treated to their own personalised football chants before heading to the Netherlands to compete in the UEFA Women's Championship.
Erin Cuthbert, Frankie Brown and Christie Murray were surprised at Oriam, Scotland’s national performance centre for sport, when they thought they were attending a meeting only to be met with a video of family and friends who had devised football chants and good luck messages for each player.
The video shows the players’ surprise, apprehension and emotion when the messages are played to them.
Midfielder Erin Cuthbert said: “It was such a surprise to see my family, friends and even an old school teacher filmed right under my nose in Irvine and so lovely hearing the good luck messages – they all managed to keep that very quiet! I love all the chants and really hope everyone gets behind us when the games begin.”
The chants were created as part of Vauxhall Motors’ sponsorship of the national football teams recorded for fans to listen to as part of their #GetIN campaign.
