CELTIC are set to sign Midtjylland defender Erik Sviatchenko.

The Viborg-born defender, a Danish international, has been linked with Celtic since June last year.

Celtic eye Roberts loan

TEENAGE striker Patrick Roberts could be heading North after Celtic were revealed to have opened talks with Manchester City regarding a loan deal for the Under-21 star.

However, they face competition from Bournemouth who are also keen on landing the ex-Fulham star on a temporary basis. (Daily Mail)

Anthony Stokes joins Hibs on loan

ANTHONY Stokes will return to Easter Road after agreeing to join Hibs on loan. A deal has been thrashed out between Celtic and Hibs and the player is expected to complete the move today. (Various)

Smoke bomb at Dundee United-Celtic clash

A SMOKE bomb was let off at the match between Dundee United and Celtic last night, with an ‘orange plume’ being seen amongst the home supporters during the first half.

Celtic supporters were hammered, with three banned and four arrested, after a similar incident at the match against Stranraer in the cup. (Herald Scotland)

Gers could have O’Halloran by next week

MICHAEL O’Halloran could be a Rangers player by next week, amid reports that the Ibrox club are close to agreeing a deal for the ex-Celtic youngster.

The midfielder, who has had two spells at Hibs along with stints at Rangers and Middlesbrough, was a key part of the Dundee team after signing at the start of the 2014/15 season, but has struggled with injury.

Ashley confirms Rangers loan repayment

SPORTS Direct have released securities held over Rangers’ assets, indicating Mike Ashley’s firm have accepted full repayment of the £5 million loan previously given to the Ibrox club.

Rangers had been given the loan under the last boardroom regime in order to keep the club solvent, in return for security over Murray Park, a car park and office buildings. (The Scotsman)
