Lovenkrands to be interview by Rangers
Peter Lovenkrands is to be interviewed by Rangers for the No 3 role at the club. New manager Pedro Caixinha wants a Scottish coach to work alongside him and his assistant Helder Baptista and, although Barry Ferguson remains favourite to land the job, former Ibrox striker Lovenkrands has emerged as a contender. He will speak to the club this week along with Ferguson and John Brown, another former Ibrox old boy. Lovenkrands famously scored Rangers’ last-gasp winner in the 2002 Scottish Cup final against Celtic and retains close ties with the club, working for their in-house TV station as an analyst. Aird says Strachan fired up Canada

Hide AdCanada goalscorer Fraser Aird says Gordon Strachan riled his side by dismissing them ahead of the match at Easter Road. Falkirk midfielder Aird opened the scoring in the 1-1 draw and gave the Scottish defence a torrid time in the first half. Jason Cummings strikes out on his own
Hibs striker Jason Cummings has revealed that he has moved out of his mum’s house and has got a flat. The free-scoring forward says the move has made a man of him, although he has admitted his mum still does all his cooking and cleaning. Cummings also said he still goes him for tea every night because he has no food in his house. (Scottish Sun)
Hearts defender close to signing new deal
Hearts defender Aaron Hughes is close to extending his contract at the club by another 12 months. The experienced Northern Ireland international joined Hearts in the January window on a six-month deal. Hughes, 37, settled in quickly and is keen to prolong his stay in Gorgie. Morton legend Andy Ritchie reckons current Ton boss Jim Duffy would deserve to be crowned manager of the year if the Cappielow club win promotion. Morton are flying high in the Championship and in line to make the play-offs and Ritchies believes that if Morton can remain unbeaten at home for the remainder of the season it would outstrip Brendan Rodgers’ unbeaten run at Celtic.
