Forrester and Windass to stay

Harry Forrester and Josh Windass look set to remain at Rangers for the time being after interest in the midfield duo cooled in recent days. A move for Forrester from Southend and supposed interest in Windass from Rotherham have both been denied by the club’s respective managers. Rangers are keen to get both players off the wage bill. Dembele keen on Marseille

Moussa Dembele would be open to the idea of returning to his homeland this summer after Marseille opened talks with Celtic about signing the player. The Scottish champions are looking for at least £20million for their young star and have told the French side they will not sell Demebele until after the Champions League qualifiers have been completed. Izaguirre in emotional goodbye

Emilio Izaguirre has said a heartfelt goodbye to Celtic and the club’s fans after clinching his move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Fayha. Along with a lengthy post thanking everyone for his seven years in Glasgow, Izaguirre uploaded a video on to his Instagram account of him kissing the badge while saying “I love you Celtic forever”. SPFL not to pursue EBT probe

The new Scottish Professional Football League board are poised to confirm they will not pursue any further investigations into the validity of titles won by Rangers during the years the Ibrox club paid players through Employee Benefit Trusts. As first revealed by outgoing SPFL chairman Ralph Topping in an interview with The Scotsman ten days ago, the league body will rely on recent legal advice to resist any calls for the stripping of titles. Dundee in for Meekings

Dundee are looking to sign ex-Inverness Caley Thistle defender Josh Meekings after the player was pictured at Dens Park. The centre-back has been training with the club in a bid to regain his fitness before the new season and Dundee are keen to negotiate a permanent contract for the 24-year-old. (Evening Telegraph)

Motherwell sign Newell

Motherwell yesterday completed the signing of 20-year-old striker George Newell. The ex-Everton and Bolton Wanderers player joins on a one-year deal after impressing in a pair of under-20s games. Airdrie director of football Gordon Dalziel concedes the club do not have any money to land a head coach and new players, unless they are willing to work for free. Arnason glad to make Dons switch

Kari Arnason was so determined to escape the football backwater of Cyprus for a return to a higher-profile, higher-pressure life at Aberdeen that he was happy to take a financial hit to make it
