Rovers boss health scare

ALBION Rovers have placed assistant manager Todd Lumsden in charge of all first-team affairs in order that manager Paul Martin can recuperate fully from the illness that has seen him admitted to hospital this week.

Martin was suspected to be suffering from meningitis, but that was ruled out and he is expected to be discharged from hospital today, although he will need several weeks of recovery time following severe headaches and dizziness.

Rovers chairman Frank Meade said: “I have spoken to Paul today and he is feeling better but he will need a bit of time. In the meantime all aspects of running the first team will be handled by Todd.”
