Rapid at a standstill

Motherwell’s pre-season friendly against Rapid Bucharest, scheduled to take place at the Grangemouth Stadium last night, was called off due to a waterlogged pitch. The Romanians were also frustrated at the weekend when a scheduled match against Livingston at their temporary base also fell victim to the torrential rain.

Rapid will try again tomorrow night, when they are due to face Hibs, again at Grangemouth.
