The Romanian’s strike gave the home side all three points to restore the 23-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership and fans can now taste the celebratory champagne… almost.

It wasn’t easy though against one of the form teams in the country.

@Ednie_G: “Thought St Johnstone came with a plan and executed it well. First half we should have been more clinical in front of goal. Great goal by Hagi and saw game out. Good three points.”

Decky Mair: “Great three points but poor and rather sloppy performance. Nevertheless on to Sunday.”

William Martin: “People are being a bit too critical. Even our 9IAR team had their off days. We won’t be impeccable every game, but winning is what matters, and that’s what we have done.”

@SThomson3110: “Ugly wins like that makes champions, champions.”

Donna Jamieson: “Take the win – 23 points clear, this time last year we would have taken three points clear!”

@EvilScotsmen04: “Now a breathing room of 23 points phew.”

Tyler Smith: “Flat performance but came away with all three points which is all that matters. Roofe’s ability to hold up the ball wasn’t good enough tonight, Itten will feel hard done by not to start the game I thought he would have been leading the line tonight but nonetheless another piece of amazing individual play from Hagi grabbed us all the points up for grabs. Well done Rangers. We go on.”

@gavincook_66: “That was such a boring game but three points is all that matters.”

@Derek39087629: “Hard fought game, last season that was a defeat this year it's three points closer.”

Anthony Wood: “Another one of those cold, rainy midweek games that drag on but we got there. I don’t care how we do it at this stage just as long as we gain the full three points , only six wins to go regardless of what they do come on Rangers.”

Luke Keane: “They’re not all going to be pretty at this stage but three points is three points and we go again!”

@DMercuta: “Thank you, Prince Ianis!”
