In the Scottish Premiership across the last three seasons there have been 189 penalties in 635 matches, an average of one every 302 minutes – or one penalty in just over every three games. The average conversion rate? 74.1 per cent.

But which teams get the most penalties and who are guilty of missing often? CIES Football Observatory have looked at the penalty stats across 35 European leagues and calculated the regularity and success of those teams who have competed in their league across the past three campaigns.
