The countdown is on. Just three days left of the week before it’s finally back, actual competitive football in Scotland with the start of the Scottish Premiership season with a tasty fixture at Pittodrie as Aberdeen host Rangers in a lunchtime kick-off, live on TV but without any fans, of course.
Between now and then there will likely be plenty happening up and down the country as coaches, players and club stuff make as many tweaks as they can ahead of the 2020/21 campaign. As for the transfer window, clubs are not in a huge rush with the market not closing until October.

Celtic have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid starlet Rodrigo Riquelme.
The Scottish champions are credited with an interest in the attacker in Mundo Deportivo.
The 20-year-old’s future is up in the air after featuring just twice for the first team last season.
It’s not the first time Celtic have been linked with Riquelme. Both them and rivals Rangers have previously been keen.
Ex-Rangers ace Alan Hutton has questioned the possible signing of Bongani Zungu.
The South African ace has been heavily linked with a move to Ibrox.
Reports in France suggest a deal has been agreed with Rangers for around £3.6m, however according to the Scottish Sun, the club haven’t made an official offer.
Hutton reckons the signing would be a gamble.
He told Football Insider: “We’re talking around £4million for a player who’s been relegated, one year left on his contract – it’s a bit steep, I would think.
“They obviously see something in him they like, he’s an international player, he’s played at a high level so you’d like to think he can come in and do a job – we don’t know exactly how he’s going to settle in so I would see that one as a bit of a gamble.”
Rangers signing target Bongani Zungu will decide in the next 48 hours whether he will join the club.
The Scottish Sun report a bid has yet to be made by the club to French side Amiens.
Reports in France suggest the midfielder will sign a four-year deal if he agrees the move.
Celtic have been told that it could take £12.5m to sign Peterborough United star Ivan Toney.
The club’s director of football Barry Fry believes keeping him and winning promotion to the Championship would be just as much.
Meanwhile, the club’s chairman Darragh MacAnthony has told fans to ignore figures quoted with Celtic reportedly having had a bid of £5m rejected.
