On top of that there is still the small matter of league reconstruction. Rangers are the latest side to put forward a proposal which would see three tiers, the promotion of the Lowland and Highland league champions and the introduction of colt sides into the leagues. It too is set to be discussed this week.

We will have all the latest from Scottish football throughout the day, including transfer deals.

  • Rangers target Liverpool striker
  • Hearts to back Ibrox reconstruction plans

Ex-Rangers ace wanted

Joey Barton wants to sign Jon Flanagan, report the Scottish Sun.

The ex-Rangers manager is in charge of Fleetwood Town.

Flanagan was released by Rangers last month.

Craig Levein in Hearts claim

Bayern and Chelsea want Hearts star

Chelsea are the latest club to be linked with a move for Aaron Hickey.

The Daily Mail report the Premier League side and Bayern Munich are amongst some of the elite clubs tracking the teenager.

No offers are believed to have been made but Hickey is in the final year of his Hearts contract.

Rangers plan second Foxes swoop

Rangers want to sign Leicester City starlet Dennis Gyamfi, report the Daily Record.

They have already recruited left-back Calvin Bassey but now want the right-back to snub offers in England, with reported interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, and move north.

Marian Shved will return to Ukraine on loan if allowed.

The winger has struggled to adapt at Celtic and is wanted by his former club Karpaty Lviv, according to reports.

Dundee United make move for Hibs target

Dundee United have set their sights on Kevin Nisbet.

The Dunfermline striker is set to be in-demand this summer, north and south of the border, after netting 57 goals across the past two seasons.

Nisbet was wanted by Hibs in January but Premiership newcomers United are hoping to steal a march, report the Scottish Sun.

Rangers make striker move

Rangers are targeting a move for Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster.

The teenager has spent time on loan at Swansea City this past season and the Welsh side are keen to extend the deal.

According to the Scottish Sun, Rangers hope a combination of European football and Steven Gerrard will convince him to move north.

Brewster was on the bench when Liverpool beat Spurs in the Champions League final in 2019.

Hearts to back Rangers' league reconstruction bid

Hearts are set to back Rangers’ league reconstruction proposals, report the Daily Record.

The Ibrox club want a three-tier system with the introduction of colt teams.

The move to a 14-14-18 structure would keep Hearts in the Premiership and would see a number of incentives for Celtic and Rangers to insert second teams in the system.
