Griffiths turned down Parma move

Leigh Griffiths has revealed he turned down a move to Parma when he was a teenager at Livingston.

The current Celtic star told Open Goal he went across to the Italian side to train, scoring a hat-trick in a bounce game.

Livingston were keen to sell him with the player due to get paid €10,000-a-week, but he rejected the opportunity.

ex-Rangers star and current academy coach Peter Lovenkrands is in contention for the St Johnstone post following the departure of Tommy Wright.

According to the Daily Record, the Ibrox reserve coach is keen to become a first-team manager.

His brother Tommy Lovenkrands previously played for the Saints.
