Rangers starting XI named as Steven Gerrard aims to make history in Motherwell

Steven Gerrard has named his Rangers starting XI to face Motherwell in this afternoon’s lunchtime kick-off at Fir Park.

Rangers came from behind to emerge 3-1 victors in the last meeting between the sides at Ibrox in December while they were also winners on their last trip to North Lanarkshire with doubles from James Tavernier, both penalties, and Cedric Itten capping a 5-1 success.

The league leaders not only have the chance to go 23 points clear of Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership, they can also equal the club post-war record of 16 consecutive victories in the top flight by a Rangers team set under the guidance of Jock Wallace in his first season as manager in 1972-73.
