Rangers record-breaking goalkeeper Allan McGregor included by boss Steven Gerrard to face Standard Liege in UEFA Europa League

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has named the team he hopes will seal European progression from the Europa League group stage tonight and ensure continental competition post-Christmas for a second successive year.

With Jermain Defoe ineligible, there’s a three-pronged attack of Ryan Kent, Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morelos, while Leon Balogun also returns to the European team after sitting out Sunday’s win over Falkirk.

Likewise, Steven Davis is in after watching the 4-0 Betfred Cup win from the sidelines and the youngsters who debuted at the weekend – Ciaran Dickson and Leon King - are on the bench.

Allan McGregor takes his place in goals and will set a new club record for European appearances – overtaking his former captain Barry Ferguson’s previous tally with tonight’s starting berth.

Rangers can seal qualification from the group with a win and are all but secure with a draw at Ibrox.

Kick off at Ibrox is 8pm.
