Rangers' league game switched as date is confirmed for Europa League

Rangers’ second league match of the season has been pushed back 24 hours after the date was confirmed for the Ibrox club’s Europa League second-leg tie against Bayer Leverkusen.

Steven Gerrard’s side will take on the Bundesliga side at the BayArena on Thursday 6 August in the last-16 clash.

It means the Rangers-St Mirren match scheduled for Saturday 8 August will now be played on Sunday 9 August, kicking off at 3pm.

Rangers kick off their league campaign on 1 August against Aberdeen at Pittodrie. St Mirren’s opener is against Livingston on the same day.

The Ibrox club lost 3-1 to Leverkusen in the first leg of the Europa League tie.

The winners will play either Inter Milan or Getafe in the quarter-finals.
