'A lovely, lovely footballer' - How the Rangers players rated in 1-0 win over Hibs as they make another step towards title

Rangers edged out Hibs 1-0 in a tightly-contested fixture at Easter Road.

The three points took Steven Gerrard’s men on to 72 points and made it 26 games unbeaten in the league, while maintaining their 23-point lead over rivals Celtic who defeated Hamilton Accies at Parkhead.

Alfredo Morelos netted the only goal of the match and unsurprisingly the Colombian was at the centre of the key incident as he so often is when facing Hibs in Edinburgh. He can count himself lucky not to have been sent off in the first half when he appeared to stamp on centre-back Ryan Porteous.

His goal arrived in the second half following a lovely move involving James Tavernier, Ryan Jack, Steven Davis and Joe Aribo.

Rangers held on as Hibs pushed for an equaliser with Jack Ross' men putting in a hugely improved performance following their Betfred Cup defeat to St Johnstone at the weekend.

The league leaders are not back in action until February 3 with a weekend off.
