SPL Fanzone: Rangers

Before Michael Hart stupidly fouled Lee Wallace I couldn’t see where a goal was coming from, so it was a relief to leave a half-empty Easter Road with a win and the lead of the SPL intact.

Rangers were tidy in possession but, at the same, toothless and ponderous.

Call it what you like, I saw a 5-4-1 formation which didn’t create chances, didn’t get the ball out to Gregg Wylde, didn’t get our full backs forward and didn’t support Nikica Jelavic. Despite his two goals, the big Croat looked isolated for most of the game and I shudder to think what will happen if he got injured.

Finally, seasonal scorn for the SFA’s disciplinary circus. Banning Sone Aluko for a refereeing error whilst exonerating Garry O’Connor after his manager admitted he’d dived is pure pantomime.
