SPL Fanzone: Rangers

47,000 fans turned out on the day the league trophy left Ibrox for the first time in four years, witnessing a third consecutive league win.

This helps cement a second-place finish, unprecedented for a club in administration, and saw referee Willie Collum award four penalties, one converted for each side.

St Mirren’s conversion saw them back in a game they’d looked out of, thanks to first-half goals by Lee McCulloch and Andrew Little, before Kyle Lafferty continued his return from injury with his penalty.

The huge red card display before and during the game signalled unequivocally to administrators Duff & Phelps that covert plans to liquidate the club will have entirely negative consequences. Let’s hope they’re sensible enough to recognise a serious threat when they see one.
