Philip Nash appointed to Rangers board

FORMER Arsenal chief executive Philip Nash has been appointed to the Rangers board, the club has confirmed.

Mr Nash, 42, has been working in a consultancy capacity since January this year, and was initially brought in to help with the club’s Business Review, and subsequently with financial and general operational matters.

The role of the one-time Chief Financial Officer at Liverpool has expanded to the extent that the Ibrox Board believe it is ‘appropriate’ for Mr Nash to serve as a Director.

It is unlikely that he will remain with the club on a permanent basis, however.

Mr Nash spent seven years with the Gunners, joining in 2001 and leaving for Anfield in 2008, where he also served as a board director for three of his five years with the Reds.

At Arsenal he oversaw the financial strategy during the club’s relocation from Highbury to the Emirates.

He began his career in accountancy at Kidsons Impey in 1993, and joined merchant banker Hambros four years later.
