Police say they expect to make further arrests after reviewing CCTV footage of the demonstration at last night’s abandoned Championship match against Hearts.

Hundreds of supporters gathered outside the front door of Ibrox to protest over claims the board was ready to mortgage off the stadium and Murray Park to Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley as security on a loan.

“One man has been arrested in connection with an incident and officers are in the process of collecting and reviewing CCTV images which will no doubt lead to further arrests.

“Anyone involved in criminal activity can be assured that officers will identify them and they will be arrested.”

Police have appealed for anyone with information that could assist their inquiries to contact them.

The match was abandoned after 25 minutes due to snow on the pitch.
