Rangers have taken countless players on trial over the last 25 years - some memorable and others who passed in the blink of an eye.

Here's a look at a handful of hopefuls, and where they ended up...

Italian striker given trial in summer 2003 after spells at Napoli, Vicenza, Venezia and Palermo. Joined Messina after his trial and saw out career in Italian lower leagues before entering management

Diminutive left-back trialled in summer 2003 before joining Sheffield United. Went on to play for Derby, Leeds, Cardiff, Doncaster, Nottingham Forest, Cheltenham and Fleetwood, before stint as Southport manager
Champions League-winner was handed a trial in summer 2003 after leaving Manchester Utd but wasn't offered deal. Moved on to Burnley and Bacup Borough and is now a wine importer.
German international winger who had trial spell after stints with Borussia Dortmund and Real Betis. Not offered a deal but was forced to retire through injury at 29. Moved into management.
30-times capped Lebanese defender who had trial in 2005 after spells with Tadamon Sour and Tripoli SC. Failed to win deal and had spells with Nejmeh and Al-Mabarrah before returning to Tadamon
Varied career saw three-cap Turkish international defender play in his homeland, Germany, Greece and the Ukraine. Had trial spells with Newcastle and Stoke and now manages Yeni Malatyaspor
Afghanistan international handed trial in 2015 after four years with Hamburg. After failing to win a deal he joined fourth-tier German side ETSV Weiche and now plays in country's sixth tier
Irish-capped, US-born striker who suffered injury minutes into Rangers trial. Failed to win deal with Aberdeen and went to India before short spells with Norwegian second-tier side Nybergsund.
Austrian centre-back who failed to win deal in July 2003. Spent career playing for lower league teams in Germany, Switzerland and Austria before retiring in 2015
German 'keeper who trialled in summer of 2012 after leaving Bayern Munich. Failed to win a deal and is now with Darmstadt after spells at Heidenheim, Stuttgarter Kickers and Bradford
Latvian striker who was given a trial in December 2015 after 39 goals in 64 games for Skonto. Joined current side Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza in Poland in 2016.
California-born centre-back who had training spell in late 2014 during three-year spell at Vancouver Whitecaps. Joined Chicago Fire in August 2017 but retired in November 2018 after injury problems
Honduran striker who had trial in August 2010 while with Motagua. Loaned to Monaco and Mexican side Atlas, before spells in Thailand and El Salvador. Now playing for Belize side Belmopan Bandits
German midfielder who trialled in August 2012 after spells with Stuttgart, Arminia Bielefeld, Frankfurt, Besiktas and Samsunspor. Later played for Erzgebirge Aue and Waldhof Mannheim and is now a scout
Cameroonian winger who played in his homeland, Brunei and the USA before August 2012 trial with Rangers. Later joined Syrianska in Sweden, Thai side Army United and Iraqi team Dohuk
Dutch forward who trialled in August 2010 while with Arsenal but joined Vitesse Arnhem before spells with Austria Wien, Monaco, Utrecht and Yeni Malatyaspor. Now with Al Jazira in the UAE Pro-League
Centre-back who trialled in 2016 after spells with Standard Liege, Newcastle, Sporting CP, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton. Later joined Philadelphia Union and is now sporting director at Orlando City B
Ex-Everton youngster who trialled in September 2013 but financial restrictions scuppered a deal. Winger has since played for Cambridge City, Port Vale, Grimsby, Hamilton and Braintree Town
Striker who came on trial in summer 2013 after studying in America. Joined Woking before brief spells with Queen's Park, Cowdenbeath, Stenhousemuir and East Fife. Now an estate agent.
Starred for Barcelona B and joined Manchester City but didn't make a first-team appearance. Has played just over 100 matches since leaving Spain in 2010. Trialled with Rangers in October 2015 but joined Hapoel Tel Aviv
Indian forward who came on trial in late 2011 with compatriot Sunil Chhetri. Was sent home early from the trial and has since turned out for Dempo, Mohun Bagan and current side Chennaiyin.
Argentinian midfielder taken on trial in September 2011. Has played for River Plate, Banfield and Independiente Rivadavia in his homeland as well as spells in Brazil, Cyprus, Mexico, Chile and Romania.
Canada international who trialled in November 2014 but wasn't offered a deal. Turned out for Brighton, IFK Goteborg and is now with Valerenga in Norway.
New Zealand international goalkeeper who arrrived on trial in January this year after stints with Wehen Wiesbaden, Ismaning, Unterhaching and Vancouver Whitecaps. Now at Bristol City.
Towering Swedish centre-back who came on trial in summer 2018 after spells with Brommapojkarna and Bayern Munich. Now with Ostersund in Sweden.
