In full: a breakdown of the Rangers newco squad set to start life in Third Division

The Rangers newco might have to kick off their Irn-Bru Third Division campaign without any new players as Sevco continue attempts to persuade the Scottish Football Association to drop a 12-month transfer embargo.

Below are the players Ally McCoist might have at his disposal for the new season in the wake of Charles Green’s declaration that Dorin Goian, Maurice Edu and Carlos Bocanegra are set to move on.

GOALKEEPERS

Neil Alexander - An expensive back-up - the 34-year-old made two appearances last season.

Scott Gallacher - The 22-year-old has not played for the first team but has made 36 appearances on loan at Cowdenbeath and Forfar.

Blair Currie - The 18-year-old made four appearances on loan at Hamilton last season.

DEFENDERS

Lee Wallace - Signed a five-year deal when joining from Hearts last summer for £1.5million, with Hearts still waiting for half of the fee. The Scotland left-back was one of the first players to pledge himself to the newco.

Kirk Broadfoot - Still has a year left on his contract but has not featured much in recent times.

Ross Perry - Signed a four-year deal in September and made 12 first-team appearances last season.

Chris Hegarty - The 19-year-old Northern Irish defender was on the bench in the final few weeks of last season and signed a new contract with the newco.

Darren Cole - Sole first-team game against Bursaspor in 2010 before being loaned out to Partick last season.

MIDFIELDERS

Alejandro Bedoya - Signed for three years last summer, the USA international remains at the club but could follow compatriots Edu and Bocanegra out of Ibrox.

Kyle Hutton - The Scotland Under-21 international impressed on loan at Dunfermline last season and has also spent time at Partick.

Andrew Mitchell - Signed a one-year contract with the newco this summer.

Lewis MacLeod - Has captained the under-19 side and played plenty of football in Scotland youth set-up.

STRIKERS

Lee McCulloch - The 32-year-old, who offered to play for free after the club went into administration, has a year left on his deal.

Andrew Little - Hit form towards the end of last season after injury prevented him making a sustained breakthrough. The Northern Ireland international’s future is uncertain as he is out of contract.

Kane Hemmings - Signed from Tamworth in 2008, the 21-year-old has a handful of first team appearances for the Light Blues but will miss the start of the season through injury.

Kal Naismith - Local youngster who has had brief loan spells at Cowdenbeath and Partick.
