Forres Mechanics confirm Rangers clash will take place at Mosset Park

HIGHLAND LEAGUE champions Forres Mechanics have confirmed that they will play Rangers at Mosset Park in their Scottish Cup clash.

The Moray club’s ground holds just under 1500, and fears had been raised over its suitability to accommodate supporters of both clubs.

The possibility of the tie being played at SPL side Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s stadium had been mooted, due to the size of the ground, but following a meeting on Tuesday, Forres Mechanics officials confirmed that the clash would take place at Mosset Park.

Dave McDonald, the club’s secretary said: “We are playing the game at Mosset Park. I think it’s great that the game is going ahead at Forres and it gives our supports that go to the games every week the chance to come and see a big match.

Rangers are drawing big crowds at the moment hopefully it will be a fantastic tie and we eventually we come out winners.

The Highland League club, who won the title last season for only the second time in their history, are expecting a sell-out crowd.

The tie is due to be played on Saturday, September 29.
