How Rangers players rated in relentless Europa League win v Royal Antwerp

Rangers repeated the feat with another high-scoring win over Royal Antwerp and matched last season’s progress in the UEFA Europa League last 16.

After last week’s manic encounter which ended in a 4-3 win for the Scottish Premiership leaders, the Ibrox boss is without striker Kemar Roofe and captain James Tavernier.

Rangers got off to the ideal start with Ryan Kent chasing down possession and squaring for Alfredo Morelos to open the scoring inside nine minutes.

They were pegged back with a flick by Lior Rafeleov but the game exploded into life just 17 seconds after the restart with Nathan Patterson firing in the best possible apology for his COVID misdemeanour earlier this week.

The youngster was excellent in replacing Leon Balogun and Rangers went further ahead with a fantastic third involving all three forwards.

Lamkel Ze pulled one back after Connor Goldson clattered Allan McGregor but Rangers pressed on and two penalties from Borna Barisic and sub Cedric Itten put Rangers into the last 16.
