Midweek results left the Accies rock-bottom of the top flight table, and Rangers on course to land the SPFL trophy next month and possibly even at the home of their Old Firm rivals, Celtic.

There is plenty of football to be played before then though and many twits and turns to come.

Sky Sports will broadcast the match on channels 401 Main Event and 403 Sky Sports Football.

Hamilton’s in-house TV hit the headlines midweek with commentator Bobby Bulloch’s toilet humour falling foul of club bosses. However the match is also live on Rangers TV for overseas subscribers and audio is still available the via RangersTV website.

Highlights will also be available from BBC on the iPlayer and Sportscene at 11pm on BBC Scotland on Wednesday night.

Form

Hamilton: LLDLWDLLW (12th)

Rangers: WWWDWWWW (1st)

Hamilton are the second worst side in the SPFL over the past ten games – only Kilmarnock have a worse record

Predictably, Rangers are the form team in the division, as they have been all season with only the flat draw at Motherwell interrupting the winning run.

Team news

Alfredo Morelos will again sit out in the second game of his suspension over the stamping inident against Hibs. Scott Arfield is nearing the first team but Sunday comes to early for the midfielder. Niko Katic remains out long-term. Scott Wright could feature for a debut, as could Jack Simpson.

Hamilton will have new signing Bruce Anderson – who has scored against Rangers – in the ranks, but Will Collar left the club.

Previous Meetings

Hamilton inflicted one of the worst defeats of Steven Gerrard’s managerial career at Ibrox 11 months ago when Davide Moyo gave Accies their first win in Govan since Adrian Sprott’s famous Scottish Cup upset in 1989.

This season there has been no repeat. Rangers won 2-0 on their first visit to the Fountain of Youth Stadium and then thumped Brian Rice’s side 8-0 at Ibrox, prompting fans to confront the boss on the team’s return to Lanarkshire.

Aside from the shock – but deserved win – last year – Rangers have won 20 of the other 22 recent encounters, drawing 1-1 at Ibrox on the opening day of the 2016-17 season.
