'Even with changes the team looks so strong' - Rangers fans excited as fringe stars set to face Lech Poznan

Nathan Patterson starts in place of James Tavernier while Jamie Barjonas is on the bench

The Gers have already qualified for the knockout stages but will aim to record a fourth win of the group campaign against Dariusz Żuraw's outfit.

Gerrard has rested in-form captain James Tavernier with youngster Nathan Patterson starting in his place. Bongani Zungu lines up in midfield while Cedric Itten leads the line.

Jon McLaughlin has been given the nod in goals with Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun, and Borna Barisic completing the back four. Zungu is joined by Glen Kamara and Scott Arfield in the middle with Joe Aribo and Ianis Hagi supporting Itten up top.

On the bench are back-up goalkeepers Allan McGregor and Brian Kinnear; Tavernier, Calvin Bassey, Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Brandon Barker, Greg Stewart, Jamie Barjonas, and Ciaran Dickson.

Stephen Craigie wrote: “Can’t wait to see how Nathan Patterson gets on during the 90.”

Scott Cameron was optimistic: “Opportunity for a few players to show what they’ve got, strong 11 still and fancy us to get a decent result.”

Ryan Ward said: “I know qualification is already secured but surprised so many changes have been made with a chance to top the group! Rotation was inevitable but surprised there has been so many changes!”

Graeme Hanna wrote: “Great to see 4/5 changes tonight, with plenty of strength in depth. We've earned the luxury of an experimental side tonight. I hope the likes of Patterson, Zungu and Itten grasp the opportunity.”

Joe Lindo wasn't too enamoured with the changes: “No idea why you’d play the second team, qualified or not. Surely the aim is to top the group?”
