Rangers poised to sign Scotland keeper Matt Gilks - reports

Rangers are on the verge of capturing Scotland international goalkeeper Matt Gilks, according to STV Sport.

A free agent after his contract with Burnley expired, the 34-year old has travelled up to Glasgow to hold talks with last season’s Ladbrokes Championship title winners.

Gilks looked to be on the verge of signing for Hearts earlier this month but the move fell through.

Rangers boss Mark Warburton has been in the market for a new goalkeeper to compete with current No.1 Wes Foderingham.

Former reserve keeper Cammy Bell recently left the club and looks certain to sign with Dundee United.

Gilks actually played at Ibrox last year in a pre-season friendly. He has three international caps, the last of which came in 2013.
