Raith rovers 5-0 Morton

Raith Rovers secured a stunning victory in their battle for First Division survival as a Brian Graham brace against former employers Morton inspired a comprehensive 5-0 win.

John McGlynn’s men now sit five points ahead of the bottom club, Queen of the South, after successive Stark’s Park victories over Partick Thistle and Morton.

Graham scrambled in a scrappy goal in the first half to give the hosts the lead after a turgid opening period. The 24-year-old doubled his tally just 16 seconds after the break, sliding in at the back post to convert a tantalising John Baird cross – the ex-Cappielow man’s fourth goal in three matches.

The provider turned goalscorer on the hour mark, as Baird raced into the area to lash a superb angled drive past Matthew McGinlay.

Second half substitutes Damian Casalinuovo and Jamie Walker combined beautifully in the box late on as the roof caved in on the Ton, with the on-loan Hearts man firing low into the net.

Eighteen-year-old Walker, turning in a delightful cameo from the bench, then slipped a superb pass through to Iain Willamson, who finished with aplomb.
