Partick Thistle 1 - 1 Raith Rovers: Rovers rescue point

ROVERS boss John McGlynn praised his side’s battling qualities after they came from behind to claim a point.

Paul Paton’s own goal cancelled out a Sean Welsh opener and left Raith hanging on to third-bottom place on goal difference from Ayr. Indeed, the Kirkcaldy side might even have left with all three points but had a late Grant Murray effort disallowed for offside.

McGlynn said: “The boys felt the ‘offside’ goal should have stood and then John Baird hit a post.

“These breaks make a difference and we haven’t had many of them.

“It would have been a massive three points but I’m happy with the spirit and character we showed.

“At 1-0 down it looked a long way back but the players have come back well. It’s very, very tight but I’m confident we have the character to win our league of three.”
