PSG's billionaire bankroller Nasser Al-Khelaifi insists Parkhead generated the best atmosphere of his life.

Celtic were swept away by the brilliance of the French side who inflicted their heaviest home defeat for 122 years with a 5-0 thumping in the Champions League opener.

But he admitted he was hugely impressed by the atmosphere whipped up by the Hoops fans in Glasgow.

He said: “I think that was the best atmosphere I have ever experienced in my life.

“Celtic’s supporters were really wonderful.

“It’s true that Celtic weren’t great on the pitch, but this is a club with a great history.

“I have a lot of respect for them and their supporters. It was a beautiful evening.”

And the 43-year-old reckoned he’s got value for his considerable financial outlay.

He said: “I think we played a very good game, especially in the first half. A 5-0 win is a wonderful way to start the Champions League.

“The players were very motivated and they all worked hard. But we have an important game against Lyon on Sunday and we must now concentrate on that now.”
